This Chocolate Hazelnut Smoothie Bowl is full of guilt-free chocolatey goodness. I'm a huge fan of chocolate + hazelnuts. Think Nutella or Ferrero Rocher but in a healthy superfood packed form.
Smoothie bowls are my new favorite breakfast. They come together in less than 10 minutes, they are super tasty, and you get to pick your own toppings!
The perfect smoothie bowl has to be THICK. Like froyo or soft serve ice cream consistency. I like to use frozen bananas to achieve the perfect texture. They also add some extra sweetness, but if you aren't into banana tasting smoothies, you can swap them out for coconut meat, avocado, or one of my favorites - steamed then frozen cauliflower or sweet potato! Hello extra fiber!!
To make the smoothie, simply toss everything into a blender (I love my Vitamix) and serve! As for toppings, you can use bananas, nuts, coconut, hemp hearts, chia seeds, berries, granola, a scoop of your favorite nut butter - the options are endless.

Chocolate Hazelnut Smoothie Bowl (Gluten Free, Paleo, Vegan)
- 2 bananas sliced and frozen
- ¼ cup roasted hazelnuts
- 1 tablespoon raw cacao
- ⅔ cup almond milk
- 3 Mejdool dates pitted
- Toppings: 1 sliced banana ¼ cup chopped roasted hazelnuts, 2 tablespoon chopped dark chocolate, 2 teaspoon hemp hearts, 2 teaspoon cocoa nibs
- Add frozen bananas, hazelnuts, cacao, almond milk, and dates to blender. Blend on high until smooth. Divide between two bowls.
- Top smoothie with banana slices, chopped hazelnuts, dark chocolate, hemp hearts, and cocoa nibs.
- Serve immediately.
